At the oil mills, the fruits are first sterilised in large pressure tanks which soften the fruits as well as eliminate any bacteria on the fruits. Then the fruits are removed from the bunches in the rotating drum stripper. From there, the fruits are passed through a screw press where the oil is extracted from the fleshy fruits, leaving behind the kernels. The oil is then purified in a continuous clarification tank to produce crude palm oil (CPO).
Kwantas’ palm oil mills consistently achieve one of the highest oil extraction rates (OER) in the industry.
