China Operations

Kwantas first ventured into China in year 2000 where it set up a sales and marketing office in Guangzhou. Guangzhou was selected as the first venue for setting up bulking installations and warehouse facilities citing from its strategic location for operational efficiency, utilizing tanks with close proximity to the ports, and enabling smooth transfer of palm oil from tankers to storage facilities through piping systems. Guangzhou has currently 22 bulking tanks with total capacity of 39,000 metric tonnes to store both edible and non-edible palm oil products.

The Group further invested in oleochemical business and bulking installation facilities in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province in year 2004. The oleochemical plant produces soap noodles, glycerine and other oleochemical products to meet the expanding demand in China local market.
